Charlotte May on Glastonbury Festival 2024

Crooner’s Corner is a great place to take a step back while at Glastonbury Festival – to kick back and unwind with a few easy tunes in a relaxed corner of the Circus Field by Bella’s Bridge.

This year, Charlotte May is making her Glastonbury Festival debut there, bringing a medley of timeless Jazz classics and some Big Band numbers.

Ahead of her performances, we caught up with May to find out what it’s like to be heading to Worthy Farm as a performer festival – following in her father’s footsteps.

Q&A with Charlotte May

Can you tell us a little about yourself and how you got into live performance?

My love for performing began from a very young age when I learnt to dance. I grew up watching my dad ‘Famos Bramwells,’ who is also a performer here at Glastonbury. He created magic through his Acting and Street Shows all over the world. My love for performing grew as I got older and I attended a Musical Theatre College in London where I found my Singing Voice. I’ve been lucky enough to follow in my Dad’s footsteps in travelling the world performing to an array of different audiences.

What’s it like to be performing at this year’s Glastonbury Festival?

I feel extremely honoured to be performing at Glastonbury this year on Crooners Corner. I have been coming to Glastonbury since I was little with my Dad. So it’s very exciting to be able to get onto that stage and perform for everyone.

What can you tell us about your plans for the show?

I will be Singing through a medley of Romantic timeless Jazz classics on Crooners Corner. Adding Touch of elegance to the festival.

How do you approach performing at a festival like this?

I have a huge repertoire of music, finding the right songs and perfecting the show is a puzzle in itself.

Will you be checking out any other acts across the weekend?

My favourite thing to do at Glastonbury is to wander round and see what I find. There is something new and exciting around each corner. No person’s experience of the festival is the same as another’s. A big icon of mine is Shania Twain, I’m really looking forward to seeing her live.
