Sunday preview – Glastonbury Festival 2024

We’re in the home straight now but it’s best to ignore the fact that it’s time to leave tomorrow. There’s so much more to do and see, so let’s not dwell on how long we have left, get out there and see what you can see!

Here are a few selections for your final day in theatre & circus:

Ellis Grover – Circus Big Top – 2:40pm

Welsh daredevil Ellis Grover started off doing parkour as a kid around his hometown of Carmarthen before setting his eyes further afield, travelling the world as a performer. His Instagram account describes him as a “Highwire Walker, Balance Artist, Chairdevil, Musician.”

Paul Foot: Dissolve – Cabaret Tent –  6:10pm

Paul Foot is a unique force in comedy with his freewheeling comic style and iconoclastic fashion sense. He has famously appeared regularly on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, as well as other comedy panel shows like Would I Lie to You and 8 out of 10 Cats. He takes his new show Dissolve to the festival following success in the same slot in 2023.

Black Liver – Poetry&Words – 12:03pm

Black Liver is Ruth Cockburn & Keith Carter. They’ve been seen and heard on BBC Radio 4, Sky and BBC1. Where did they get the name? Well, Ruth is from Blackpool and Keith is from Liverpool. Miss Nobodies is one of this year’s theatre shows with the two-hander taking us through the history of the last 100 years in a shop in a Northern town.

(The Very Best of) Tommy Cooper – The Astrolabe – 5:10pm

Written and performed by Daniel Taylor, this hilarious one-man show focuses on Tommy Cooper’s legendary comedy act, recapturing his trademark mayhem and misfiring magic and includes many of Cooper’s beloved one-liners, dazzling wordplay and celebrated tricks, including Glass/Bottle, Dappy Duck, Spot the Dog and Jar/Spoon. A perfect chance to let up some steam and have a nostalgic laugh in the early evening.
